Aaron Carter Victim of an Alleged Boy Band Hate Crime

What you missed on Instagram this weekend: Former tween pop star Aaron Carter displaying injuries incurred in an alleged boy band turf war.

Carter, the younger brother of a Backstreet Boy whose affections once captivated Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff simultaneously, tells TMZ he was walking across a parking lot in Boston when four men jumped him. "I heard you're doing a show here tomorrow. This is the town of the New Kids," their leader yelled before the gang "jumped out of a gold Chevy Malibu" and attacked. Missing a great opportunity for a dance-off, Carter says he returned fire with his fists and "I think my knuckles might be broken, but that's what they get. People think I'm a pretty little white boy but no way. I think I won. I'm still standing."

Though he feared his fists were broken, the dulcet-voiced pugilist persevered, continuing to make appearances for his ongoing solo tour. Did you know Aaron Carter still tours?

Aaron Carter did not file a police report because that would be "girlie."

Serena Williams Thinks Steubenville Rape Victim ‘Shouldn’t Have Put Herself in That Position’ [Update]

LONDON, ENGLAND - JUNE 18: Serena Williams arrives at Burberry Menswear Spring/Summer 2014 at Kensington Gardens on June 18, 2013 in London, England. (Photo by Gareth Cattermole/Getty Images for Burberry) Serena Williams.

If Rolling Stone's profile of Serena Williams had ended a few paragraphs earlier, there might have been some buzz among tennis fans about her criticizing a competitor who may or may not be Maria Sharapova, and writer Stephen Rodrick comparing her to Kim Jong-un. However, when Roderick accompanied Williams to a nail salon, a report about the rape of a 16-year-old girl from Steubenville, Ohio by two football players happened to appear a TV screen, and Williams decided to share her breathtakingly insensitive take on the case. "Do you think it was fair, what they got? They did something stupid, but I don't know," Williams remarked. "I'm not blaming the girl, but if you're a 16-year-old and you're drunk like that, your parents should teach you: Don't take drinks from other people. She's 16, why was she that drunk where she doesn't remember?"

Williams added, "It could have been much worse. She's lucky. Obviously, I don't know, maybe she wasn't a virgin, but she shouldn't have put herself in that position, unless they slipped her something, then that's different."

Her remarks were widely condemned on social media, with journalist Jamil Smith providing the best takeaway:

While Rodrick emphasizes in the beginning of the article that, "Serena's dominance has been fueled by not giving a shit what you or anyone else thinks about her methods," we'd be surprised if a statement clarifying her remarks doesn't appear soon.

Update, 10:45 a.m.: As predicted, Williams released a statement on her website this morning clarifying her opinion about the Steubenville victim. Williams also implies that she never said things she was reported to have said:

“What happened in Steubenville was a real shock for me. I was deeply saddened. For someone to be raped, and at only sixteen, is such a horrible tragedy! For both families involved – that of the rape victim and of the accused. I am currently reaching out to the girl’s family to let her know that I am deeply sorry for what was written in the Rolling Stone article. What was written – what I supposedly said – is insensitive and hurtful, and I by no means would say or insinuate that she was at all to blame.

I have fought all of my career for women’s equality, women’s equal rights, respect in their fields – anything I could do to support women I have done. My prayers and support always goes out to the rape victim. In this case, most especially, to an innocent sixteen year old child.”

Tyler, the Creator’s Misogynist Rant Victim Called the Cops

After a feminist protester reported Tyler, the Creator to the police, the rapper called Talitha Stone a "fucking bitch," "fucking whore," and "fucking cunt" while she stood in the audience at an Odd Future show in Sydney.

Stone and anti-misogyny organization Collective Shout had been trying to get the Odd Future leader's Australian visa revoked, citing rules against visitors who "vilify or incite discord" and "songs advocating rape and extreme violence against women." (Sample lyrics: "Rape a pregnant bitch and tell my friends I had a threesome," "Keep that bitch locked up in my storage, rape her and record it.") When Stone tweeted about protesting a concert in Sydney, Tyler retweeted her, prompting cyber harassment from his fans and Stone filing a police report.

The next day Tyler told his audience, "I wish she could hear me call her a bitch, too, fucking whore." And since Stone was at the concert shooting videos, he got his wish.

A few songs in, Tyler told his fans that "some bitch was trying to get him kicked out of the country", followed by one of two songs he dedicated to me. This one was titled Bitch Suck Dick, which contains the lyrics “You dead bitch, I'm hot as fuck … Punch a bitch in her mouth just for talkin' shit”.

He also said these things: "Fucking bitch, I wish she could hear me call her a bitch, too, fucking whore. Yeah, I got a sold-out show right now bitch. Hey this fucking song is dedicated to you, you fucking cunt."

Another rapper on stage said: “you really didn't like her did you Tyler?" To which he replied: “No, the fucking whore. This is the second time they've tried to get me kicked out of Australia. I'm still in Australia you fucking whore”. He also said he hoped my children "get some messed up STDs”. At his incitement of violence towards me, the crowd went wild, cheering and pumping their fists. The underaged fans – of which there were many – were groomed into mini "Tyler" behaviour. Rape is funny!

"FUCK THAT SHOW WAS THE BEST FUCK," Tyler tweeted after the show. The celebrated rapper is often the source of heated discussions of misogyny — most recently, when Mountain Dew pulled an add he'd created featuring a battered blonde being too afraid to identify her attacker, a wise-cracking goat who threatens to "do you up," from a lineup of black men.
