If you've already signed up to Google's experimental field trials, you might have started to notice people you know appearing within search queries. Expanding on shipping and flight results offered previously, Google's pulling that information from your Gmail account, meaning that you'll be able to poll for contact numbers, addresses (and more) through the search box. Of course, only you will be able to see the results and the beta feature can even link up to voice search. It currently supports all of your Gmail contacts, while Google+ connections are in the pipeline for future field tests. You can sign up to the trials at the second link below.

Keeping your Gmail account organized isn't that hard when you can tag and star emails. Evernote Web Clipper's new function, however, promises easier access to missives you deem particularly important. Once the Chrome extension is installed, it saves any message you want along with its attachments in just one click. One note, though: you'll need a premium account to search through any attached documents. Note that the Gmail clip will look like a garbled mess (especially if it's a lengthy thread) on Web Clipper's preview screen, but on the Evernote app or web portal it will appear nicely formatted. Google Offers 15GB Unified Storage Across Gmail, Drive, Google+

“Life gets a bit easier when your Google products work well together—whether that’s inserting a Drive file into an email or sharing a photo from Drive on Google+. As this experience becomes more seamless, separate storage doesn’t make as much sense anymore,” Clay Bavo, Google’s Director of Product Management said in a blog post announcing the change.
With the new combined storage space you are free to store what you want where you want. So you could in theory have 15GB of files stored in Gmail, but nothing stored anywhere else; or 5GB in Gmail, 9GB in Google Drive, and a few photos hanging out in Google+.
Previously you were restricted to 10GB of free storage in Gmail, and 5GB for Google+ and Google Drive. You were also unable to upgrade Gmail storage past 25GB. Monday's unified storage announcement removes that cap.
Google also updated the Google Drive storage page. The new page has a pie chart breaking down your own personal storage over each platform, and offers easy access for buying more data. Users can upgrade to 100GB of storage, for instance, for $4.99 per month.

Anyone who's tried out the new Hangouts feature in Gmail in place of the traditional Google Talk option got a bit of surprise when they went to make an outbound call from their computer. That feature gets disabled when the new Hangouts replacement is switched on, leaving folks looking to make calls with no other option than to revert to the old Google Talk in Gmail or seek out another alternative. That's apparently just a temporary change, though, as Google's Nikhyl Singhal has now confirmed that both outbound and inbound calls will "soon be available." Unfortunately, he's not getting any more specific than that for the time being. He did, however, reiterate that "Hangouts is designed to be the future of Google Voice," and that "making/receiving phone calls is just the beginning," further adding that "future versions of Hangouts will integrate Google Voice more seamlessly."
