Marc Jacobs’s New and Sexy Patent Leather 1984 Satchel

There's something slightly wicked to the slick black patent leather of Marc Jacobs's latest 1984 satchel. Its classic shape belies the badass quality that its sharp lines, soft gold hardware, and high-shine gloss otherwise offer. Plus, the rolled handle and detachable shoulder strap mean this beautiful bag can be worn every day, with ease.

First Look: Raf Simons’s Beautiful New Art Book

"Fashion is not there to educate you, but to challenge you," Raf Simons shares in one of the numerous interviews included in his new coffee-table book, curated by i-D mastermind Terry Jones. "Sometimes I speak with young kids and I have the feeling ... not that they have no interest, but that they look at it a different way. This is the reason I chose to do fashion, to create a dialogue and bring people together." In the Taschen release, aptly titled Raf Simons, readers are guided through his impeccably tailored menswear line, reinvented Jil Sander, and new look since he took charge of Dior in 2012. Throughout, the book includes 120 pages of photographs dug up from the i-D archives as well as essays and interviews by Terry and journalist Tricia Jones, among others. Sprinkled between are quotes from the designer himself: "My own label is very much linked to my past and to my environment. It's darker, dirtier, and more underground ... " one reads, while another adds, "Isolation. Disorder. Incubation. They really represent certain aspects of my work and come from Joy Division. It goes back to my youth." Click through the slideshow for a quick trip into Simons's past to further understand the influences, thoughts, and inspirations defining fashion's future.

Official Twitter app for Windows Phone updated with photo filters, lens app integration

Windows Phone users may be recovering from their Jetpack Joyride ecstasy yesterday, but Twitter is giving its official app some much-needed love today. The latest update, which came down the pipeline this morning, adds such enhancements as lens app integration and the ever-popular photo filter feature complete with eight options to choose from. But that's not all, our WP8-loving friends: you can now also view Vine videos directly within tweets, save tweeted images directly to your phone and refresh lists on-demand. Considering it's been a few months since the last update, this is a solid improvement over the last version.

If you've got kids, or just like pretending you still are one on weekends, then you're probably familiar with LeapFrog's infant-friendly LeapPad. We might suggest that you hold off buying one for the next few weeks, thanks to a listing for a LeapPad Ultra that meandered through the FCC today. Given that the LeapPad 2 hit stores last August, we'll expect to learn a lot more about this unit over the next couple of weeks. That said, if you can't wait, or are just curious about what lurks beneath its green plastic shell, check out the teardown gallery below. LeapFrog LeapPad Ultra FCC Teardown See all photos 18 Photos

Karl Lagerfeld Thinks He Helped Adele Lose Weight

When asked if he could clarify his inflammatory comments about Adele being "a little too fat," Karl Lagerfeld told CNN last week, "I never said that she was fat. I said that she was a little roundish; a little roundish is not fat. But for such a beautiful girl, after that she lost eight kilos [17.6 pounds] so I think the message was not that bad." As for his statement that Pippa Middleton should "only ever show her back," he repeated, "I think that her sister looks better." At least he's consistent? He also talked about marrying his cat, so let's go ahead and take this whole interview with a grain of salt.
