Skype video messaging officially launches on Windows, Mac, iOS, Android -- but not Windows Phone

Skype Video Messaging – Catch Up Whenever, Wherever

Skype is all about keeping people close - but even the best technology can't solve the problem of busy schedules or missed calls. Want to say goodnight to your kids while traveling, but you'll be up in the air? Need to wish your dad a happy birthday, but can't seem to catch up? Spot something interesting while you're out and about, and want to share with your friend?

Skype can help you connect with the special people in your life-even when your schedules conflict.

We're excited to announce that video messaging is now coming out of preview as a full-fledged (and free!) feature in Skype for Windows desktop, Skype for Windows 8, Skype for Mac, Skype for iPhone, Skype for iPad, Skype for Android and Skype for BlackBerry. Just like the millions of users around the world who have already previewed video messaging, you too can now record and share a personal video message, even when your friends and loved ones are not available. The best part is that they'll be able to view your video message as soon as they sign into Skype. Skype Video Messaging is easy and convenient, and only the contact you've chosen to receive your message can view it.

Video messaging is now available to all Skype users. You can send and receive as many video messages as you want – completely free of charge. Video messages can be received and viewed on any platform or device running Skype.

Skype Video Messaging adds another great way to keep in touch with friends and family during life's most meaningful moments. Send a video message to your friends and family today-it's easy. You can capture a fleeting memory, create a heartfelt reminder or simply tell a friend or family member "wish you were here" even when they aren't online:

We already know about Microsoft's impending Windows 8 overhaul, but previews of app specific updates have been few and far between. Now, thanks to an apparent Windows Store update on leaked builds, we're starting to see what kind of updates we can expect. In addition to updates for the news, weather, travel, finance and sports apps (see the video after the break), images are leaking for the OS' new calculator application, sound recorder, Movie Moments and an Xbox Music redesign. It's hard to judge these tweaks without actually handling the update ourselves, but we'll say it again for good measure: we may have to review Windows 8 all over again.

Kate Moss Playboy Update: Chuck Close Involved?

The latest news on Kate Moss's Playboy cover, which will supposedly come out for the magazine's 60th anniversary issue in January: the Post reports that the model has commissioned artist Chuck Close to do a painting based on the spread, which was supposedly shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. Reps for the magazine wouldn't comment, so who knows, but involving Close would be an interesting way to gussy up a Playboy shoot into something more highbrow and art-y. What's more, Close has worked with Moss before — he took a series of arresting photographs of her entirely nude back in 2003, so this would be a ten year reunion of sorts. How sweet.

Outfit of the Week: The En Pleine Air Look

Chrysanthemums in a bold print and white silk seem right for the easy, languid poolside life straight out of a Slim Aarons photograph. And while sailing the Amalfi coast might not be in your summer plans, slipping on K. Jacques sandals will feel like the next best thing. To personalize the look, indulge in delicate gold jewelry like this simple gold pendulum and a monogram initial or two.

Equipment Diem Tie Front Blouse, $184 at Otte NYC; Blue Printed Pencil Skirt, $59.90 at Zara; K Jacques St. Tropez Epicure multi-strap leather sandals, $260 at Net-a-Porter; Clare Vivier Oversized Clutch in Persimmon, $143 at Need Supply; Gorjana Alphabet Disk Bracelet, $70 at Shopbop; Jules Smith Zoe Bullet Necklace, $49 at Shopbop.

Rihanna, the Glittery Disco Ball

Yesterday in London, the singer stepped into the streets dressed in a dizzying holographic outfit that made her project rainbows wherever the light hit her (like a unicorn). RiRi wore a short-sleeved crop top covered in gold sequins that also happened to be a backless cape top. She carried a hologram clutch and even strapped chrome heels onto her feet. She contrasted her glimmer overload with a nice pair of loose, holey, cuffed boyfriend jeans. They look way more comfortable than her denim thong.
