This past week was filled with all types of memorable events around the world. As usual, we bring you the best ones, captured in photos. From demonstrations and protests to a robot sports competition, there really was a little bit of everything.

For the former, a large anti-government protest took place in Madrid, Spain. There was also an anti-same-sex marriage demonstration in France, as well as an anti-gun protest in Washington D.C., following the White House's failed attempt to push new gun-control laws through the Senate.

It was also a big week for Australia and New Zealand, which celebrated the Australia New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) Day; it commemorates the time when the two countries' First World War forces landed on the Gallipoli Peninsula. The day pays tribute to the Australians and New Zealanders who fought and died in all wars.

These and other significant moments can be seen, below. Which is your favorite? Did we miss any? Let us know in the comments.
